The most beautiful natural gift from God to man is the gift of words, the ability to speak and make words.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:23). The most beautiful natural gift from God to man is the gift of words, the ability to speak and make words. You’re what you say. Your life is the summation of the words that come out of you. Our opening verse emphasises the importance of framing your life aright with your words. The principle is clear: what you say is what you get. Life will produce for you a harvest of what you say—good or bad. Understand that in this, there’s no middle ground. Someone might say, “Well, I haven’t been saying anything at all; so I believe I’m going to be okay,” no; it doesn’t work that way. You’ll still have a harvest; howbeit, the wrong one. It’s like having a garden and refusing to sow any seed in it; something will definitely grow of its own accord—weeds. Sadly, the lives of some are that way. They don’t realize it’s their responsibility to keep themselves in victory, dominion, and prosperity. God already did all that’s necessary for you to have and enjoy a transcendent life in Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s your responsibility now to keep things that way, and it’s mainly about your confession. You must affirm that you have a great life, if you’re going to live it! You must acknowledge and confess that you’ve been called to a life of glory and virtue; a life of power, beauty and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” Now you can see that there isn’t anything you don’t have. This ought therefore, to form the basis for your faith declarations. Never talk lack, sickness, weakness, inability or fear. Rather, keep affirming that you have and walk in divine health. Affirm that the Lord is your strength, your righteousness, your success, and your prosperity. Keep saying it and your life will go in one direction only—upward and forward. Reverend Ken Oyakhilome

I read the Bible daily but easily forget what I read. What do you think might be wrong with me?3/18/2020 ANSWERPastor Chris: First of all, the ministry of the Holy Spirit includes reminding us of anything that the Lord has taught us. So, if you are having problems remembering the word of God, then it’ll mean that you never actually introduced that word into your spirit because we have a memory in our mind and we have a memory in our spirits when we hear the word of God he wants us to commit it into our Spiritual memory, your spirit can remember, you remember that in the Bible when Jesus talked about the rich man and Lazarus and then Abraham who received Lazarus’s after his death into his bosom and then the rich man also dead and went to hell. And then in hell he called out to father Abraham whom he saw across the gulf on the other side and he addressed Father Abraham and father Abraham said to him, son remember, he said remember, he said remember and he told him what to remember when he was in the earth because human spirit has the capacity to remember.
So, you can remember in your spirit and one other beautiful things even your mind is a possession of your Spirit because it belongs in your spirit and so this is something you need to realize if you will commit the word of God to your spiritual memory you will not lose it. That’s why we meditate there is a difference between meditation and cramming. When you cram something you are committing it to your outward memory which we call the mind alright but then when you mediate you pass on the same thing into your spirit we mediate with our hearts and this is what you need to do to the word of God because you said you will like to preach the word, if you’re going to preach the word you will have to have it in your spirit and the spirit of man is the place for the word of God. That’s where the difference is because it says with your heart you believe, he says with the heart man believes unto righteousness. You see the word of God comes into your heart, your spirit and that’s where you believe. The more you delve into the Word of God, the more you realize that God is really not “doing” anything for anybody today in the sense that many understand it. He’s already done everything He needed to do.
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ (1 Corinthians 3:1). There’re certain kinds of communications permissible for Christians at the lower level of spiritual understanding. For example, at an evangelical meeting, I might say, “God is going to heal you today,” and diverse healing miracles will take place. That statement is a truth, but a lesser truth. I’ll explain. Genesis 1:16 talks about different lights: “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.” Light stands for truth. So, there’re lesser truths and there’re greater truths. The lesser and generic truth is that “God is going to heal you.” But there’s such a thing as being specific. It’s like specialization in the academia. At the first level, you’re taught the rudiments. As you move higher, you’re taught specifics—areas that only the initiated should come into. It’s the same thing spiritually. The more you delve into the Word of God, the more you realize that God is really not “doing” anything for anybody today in the sense that many understand it. He’s already done everything He needed to do; He has fulfilled everything in Christ Jesus! So, He’s not making any effort to heal you; He’s already done it! If you thought, “O God, you’re really going to heal me today”; that’s a lesser truth. In certain kinds of meetings, we teach and preach the general truth, so the non-Christians present at such meetings could hear the Word of God, be blessed and receive Christ. But at certain other meetings, we unveil the Word so God’s people can learn and put it to work for themselves; we move to the higher classes and show them the reality of God’s Word. Refuse to remain in the lower class, like the Corinthian Christians that the Apostle Paul chided for being carnal. Rather, transcend the babyhood stage of Christianity. Grow in Christ and increase in the knowledge of God’s Word! Grow and function at higher levels, for there’s a higher life in Christ! . It’s never too late to learn and be inspired by a dream of success. Even if you’re already grey-headed and advanced in years, God can still use you
Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord (Romans 12:11 AMP). Part of the reason young people can be very successful, where older people fail, is that many young people don’t know enough to be afraid. Most older people know too much; they have too much information about what doesn’t work. They remember when they tried out something and it failed, and so they became cynical. It’s a lot harder to inspire such people to make a fresh move or have a fresh start. Understand that being old in this context isn’t so much about a person’s age, but about the state of his mind. Your body might age, but refuse to age in your mind. Think fresh; think success. God loves to use young people, because they think fresh all the time; they easily believe, and are always passionate about learning something new. It’s never too late to learn and be inspired by a dream of success. Even if you’re already grey-headed and advanced in years, God can still use you. Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, and at that age, he was still strong and vibrant. The Bible says, “...His eyesight was sharp; he still walked with a spring in his step” (Deuteronomy 34:7 MSG). What will you be like when you’re ninety-two? I can tell, if you put this message to work: You won’t be crying that nothing works. Instead, you’ll be the one teaching and imparting faith to the younger generation. You’ll be changing lives with the Gospel, speaking in tongues, prophesying, and speaking words of faith by the power of the Holy Spirit! . I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him (Ecclesiastes 3:14).
Whatever God does is perfect and eternal. When He made you, He made you perfect and it wasn’t part of His plan for your kidneys, heart, lungs or any other organ in your body to fail. He made you perfect and complete, with nothing missing. No wonder the Word says you’re complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). Genesis 1:31 says, “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” Notice, it doesn’t say everything that He had made was partially good; no! They were very good; and you’re the cream, the best and most sublime, of all that He created. He’s the only One who can tell us about His creation, and we need to have the right mindset about who we are and our heritage in Christ. If He has said He made you perfect and complete, then that’s it! Believe it, confess it, and live accordingly. Colossians 4:12 tells us something beautiful; it says, “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Epaphras was here interceding for the brethren and desired for them to stand perfect and complete. The word, “perfect” is translated from the Greek “teleios”; it actually means “maturity,” “a completeness”; that is, being brought to full age. While the word, “complete” in that same verse, means “pleroo” (Greek), meaning “to be full,” and in need of nothing. Thus, the Spirit’s prayer for the Church, through Epaphras, is for us to become mature in the things of God, and be full in such a way as to require nothing; it’s for us to be whole, perfect, and sound. That’s the way Jesus was; He was perfect and entire, wanting nothing. What a life! This is God’s dream for you; live accordingly. . In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7).
“Redemption” in the verse above, is the Greek word, “apolutrosis” and it means riddance. In Christ, we have our riddance. He rids or plucks you out of trouble, and rids your life of anything that’s wrong. So, you can say, “I have my riddance in Christ, no matter what!” That’s redemption. It doesn’t matter what mess you may think you’re in, you can trust Him to get you out. In Christ Jesus, we also have remission of sins. The King James translation uses the word “Forgiveness” of sins, but the Greek word is “aphesis” and it means remission; the total removal or blotting away of sins. God did much more than forgive us; He blotted out our sins. There’s no trace or record of your sins; it’s as though you never sinned. That’s why it’s wrong for a Christian to keep a consciousness of sin. Some are forever praying and asking God for forgiveness, because they’re always overwhelmed by the burden of sin-consciousness. The truth is that the Bible never tells us to ask God for forgiveness. God never made provision for your “forgiveness.” This might upend some people’s theology, but it’s a present truth. To forgive means to pardon, in which case the record of wrong remains, though you’ll not be punished. But that’s not the case with God and us. The actual Greek rendering is “to take away completely, to put away, blot out, separate from.” You might want to ask, “How about 1 John 1:9 that says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness?” What that simply means is that if we acknowledge (confess) our sins, God is faithful and just to put them away, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There’s an automatic cleansing going on. That’s what it says in the seventh verse: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). God wants you to walk free of guilt or condemnation! He wants you to walk in the light of your riddance, your righteousness, your justification, your holiness, and your sanctification in Christ Jesus, not snowed-under by guilt or sin-consciousness. . But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).
Anything is possible! This should be your mentality. Never think defeat, failure or weakness. Cultivate the winning mentality; the mentality that believes and affirms, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). That’s the victor’s mentality, and you develop it through the Word. It doesn’t matter what your life has been like or the experiences you’ve had; one thing is certain: you’re a victor in Christ Jesus! Irrespective of the affliction, tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, destitution, perils, wars etc., that may be ravaging today’s world, you’re more than a conqueror: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37). Trust the Lord and hold on to His Word. When you go through challenges, don’t complain! The Lord knew there’d be challenges, but He gave us the assurance that we’ll be triumphant always: “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place” (2 Corinthians 2:14). Your victory is a settled fact. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”; this is a present-hour truth. Nothing is, and can ever be to your disadvantage. Romans 8:28 declares, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Have this consciousness! Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand (Philippians 2:4 MSG).
Sometimes it’s easy to think, “Since no one cares about me, I won’t care about anyone!” Don’t be that way. Be the one to remember, care for, and love others! Be the first to love. Be the blesser and the giver. The blessing you get from receiving is less, compared to that which you get from giving to others. Jesus said, “...It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). God’s promise isn’t to the one who receives but to the one who gives. So, rather than seek attention, for example, give it instead. Give love. Demonstrate love to everyone, including those who may have offended you, and to the ungodly that have no hope. That’s how God wants you to live. Some people only know how to enjoy attention; they only crave love from others. That’s dangerous, because when they don’t get the love and attention they seek, they could become cruel and wicked. You’re the seed of Abraham, and the seed of Abraham reaches out; he’s a blesser; he hears the cry of the needy and responds. You’re the answer the world is looking for; you’re the one to meet other people’s needs. You may not think so about yourself, but it’s the truth. Genesis 26:4, referring to you, the real spiritual seed of Abraham, says, “…in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.” Galatians 3:29 says, “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” You’re blessed in blessing others. Your greatness is in making others great. That’s where real joy is. It’s a higher way to live when you learn to look away from yourself and become concerned about the needs of others and be the blesser and the giver. . Thoughts are pictures of the mind that have constructive or destructive potential. Thoughts also have power and create realities. The quickest way to affect your thoughts is through mental pictures. You’ve got to see first in your mind the things you desire for your life.
In Genesis 15:1, God told Abraham, “Fear not, I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” But instead of Abraham to be excited at God’s Word, he complained bitterly: “Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since I don’t have a son, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth” (Genesis 15:2-3 TNLB). God, however, knew what to do to make Abraham believe; He gave him a mental picture. He “…brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and He said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the Lord; and He counted it to him for righteousness” (Genesis 15:5-6). That picture of having offspring as innumerable as the stars in the sky helped Abraham believe God’s Word and think the right thoughts. He went on to receive God’s promise and Isaac was born. Make a practice of forming the right images in your mind based on God’s Word. When you do, those thoughts will create realities. “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32). Words are powerful; they actually constitute the building blocks of our lives. Whether you know it or not, you built whatever life you’re living right now with your words. If for any reason, you’re dissatisfied with your present circumstances, you can take charge of your life and steer it away from where it is now to where you want it to be. The Bible tells us that the worlds were framed by the Word of God (Hebrews 11:3). God gave form, beauty and order to the world through His spoken Word; He spoke creation into existence. Genesis 1:2 says, “and the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep, this was the chaotic picture of the earth before God took charge and turned things around by His Spirit, through the spoken Word. He said, “let there be light: and there was light (Genesis 1:3). He spoke forth light, to replace darkness. Likewise, as a child of God, you can take charge of the circumstances of your life and turn things around for your good. It doesn’t matter what condition you may be in right now; give the word and there’ll be a change. God gave us His Word as a tool with which to build our lives, and frame our world. You can create for yourself a victorious life of success, peace and prosperity through the Word of God in your mouth. The Psalmist describes the glorious life of the one who constantly talks or meditates on the Word: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Psalm 1:3). Take charge of your life today and make it what you want it to be! Meditate and talk God’s Word concerning your health, success, victory and prosperity. |
