I read the Bible daily but easily forget what I read. What do you think might be wrong with me?3/18/2020 ANSWERPastor Chris: First of all, the ministry of the Holy Spirit includes reminding us of anything that the Lord has taught us. So, if you are having problems remembering the word of God, then it’ll mean that you never actually introduced that word into your spirit because we have a memory in our mind and we have a memory in our spirits when we hear the word of God he wants us to commit it into our Spiritual memory, your spirit can remember, you remember that in the Bible when Jesus talked about the rich man and Lazarus and then Abraham who received Lazarus’s after his death into his bosom and then the rich man also dead and went to hell. And then in hell he called out to father Abraham whom he saw across the gulf on the other side and he addressed Father Abraham and father Abraham said to him, son remember, he said remember, he said remember and he told him what to remember when he was in the earth because human spirit has the capacity to remember.
So, you can remember in your spirit and one other beautiful things even your mind is a possession of your Spirit because it belongs in your spirit and so this is something you need to realize if you will commit the word of God to your spiritual memory you will not lose it. That’s why we meditate there is a difference between meditation and cramming. When you cram something you are committing it to your outward memory which we call the mind alright but then when you mediate you pass on the same thing into your spirit we mediate with our hearts and this is what you need to do to the word of God because you said you will like to preach the word, if you’re going to preach the word you will have to have it in your spirit and the spirit of man is the place for the word of God. That’s where the difference is because it says with your heart you believe, he says with the heart man believes unto righteousness. You see the word of God comes into your heart, your spirit and that’s where you believe.
